A Taste of “Fuwamochi” Warmth
The “Gochi CAFE” initiative by Kappa Sushi has consistently aimed to offer customers a “slightly luxurious moment” through seasonal and trending sweets. This winter, the focus shifts to traditional Japanese flavors with a delightful texture. The star of the show is the Hokkaido Azuki Fuwamochi Zenzai (360 yen including tax), a sweet red bean soup crafted using large, flavorful azuki beans sourced directly from Hokkaido. “Zenzai” is a beloved Japanese dessert, and Kappa Sushi elevates it with “fuwamochi” (fluffy and chewy) dango—rice dumplings made from a special blend of rice flour and mochi flour. Each bowl is prepared to order, with the dango warmed and the rich azuki soup poured over, ensuring a comforting warmth perfect for chilly winter days.

For those with an extra sweet tooth, the Hokkaido Azuki Fuwamochi Cream Zenzai (390 yen including tax) offers an even more decadent experience. This version takes the classic zenzai and generously tops it with creamy whipped cream and a sprinkle of kinako (roasted soybean flour) blended with stick sugar, adding layers of sweetness and a nutty aroma. It’s a delightful twist that perfectly complements the traditional flavors.

Gochi CAFE: Beyond Sushi, Into Sweetness
The introduction of these zenzai variations highlights Kappa Sushi’s commitment to enhancing the dining experience beyond its renowned sushi offerings. The “Gochi CAFE” brand, represented by its inviting logo, consistently brings innovation and seasonal charm to its dessert menu.

These limited-time sweets will be available at all Kappa Sushi locations (excluding some renovated stores) starting December 4, 2025. Customers can find more details on the official menu page: https://www.kappasushi.jp/menu2#menu19. Please note that availability may vary due to weather, stock, and sales, and these items will not be available for delivery services.
Beyond the new zenzai, the “Gochi CAFE” menu continues to feature a range of popular items that cater to diverse tastes, including the fluffy Kappa's Shari Donut Kinako and the rich Premium Pudding. These offerings underscore how Japanese food culture, especially “kawaii” food, blends tradition with modern trends, constantly evolving to bring joy and surprise to diners. It’s a delightful journey that promises to keep adding daily excitement to every meal.
