Poppin Games Japan has announced the much-anticipated results of the “1st Character Concept Contest” for its popular smartphone game, ‘Isekai Kitchen: A Modern Restaurant in Another World’. Out of 108 unique submissions, a charming new character, “Edel,” a sheep beast-human maid, has been selected to join the game’s culinary ranks.
The contest, held from December 18, 2025, to January 19, 2026, via the official X account, invited players and fans to submit their original character concepts for a new chef. The winning concept, submitted by Karuki-sama, captivated the judges with its distinctiveness and engaging backstory.
Edel: A Maid with a Culinary Mission
The chosen character, Edel, is a sheep beast-human maid with striking black skin. Her story unfolds as she arrives at the ‘Isekai Kitchen’ to learn modern cooking techniques. Her master, having developed a fondness for rapeseed blossom dishes, instructed her to seek out the restaurant with a “token of appreciation” to master the recipes.

Edel’s concept will now be brought to life with new artwork, adhering to ‘Isekai Kitchen’s’ distinctive art style. Players can anticipate her appearance as a new chef character in the game around April to May 2026. This fan-created addition promises to inject fresh charm and unique culinary narratives into the game.
