A Tribute to Hiroshima’s Flavor
The “OK!! Hiroshima (Oishii-ke, Hiroshima)” project, whose name literally means “delicious, Hiroshima” in the local dialect, aims to strengthen the “Hiroshima brand” by showcasing the prefecture’s rich food assets and culture. Supporting this initiative are goodwill ambassadors, artists Tamio Okuda and Koji Kikkawa, both of whom have lauded the exquisite taste of Ko-iwashi. The allure of this small, shimmering fish, a true delicacy of the Setouchi Inland Sea, serves as the central motif for the collaboration sneaker.
The sneaker design intricately captures the essence of the Ko-iwashi. Built upon SPINGLE’s popular mid-cut model, the SP-442, known for its convenient side-gore, the “SP-OKHIROSHIMA KOIWASHI” features a stunning upper. Artisans meticulously apply a shimmering marble-patterned foil by hand to each pair, creating an iridescent effect that mimics the radiant scales of the small sardine. This dedication to craft ensures that no two pairs are exactly alike, each possessing a unique character.

A striking detail is the red kangaroo leather tongue, emblazoned with the “OK!! Hiroshima” logo. Kangaroo leather is prized for its softness and durability, offering a supple feel. The entire shoe is produced using the vulcanized manufacturing method, a traditional process that bonds the upper to the rubber sole with heat and pressure, ensuring exceptional flexibility and resilience. The rubber outsoles are also produced in-house by SPINGLE, and the shoe shaping is performed by skilled artisans. The “Made in Japan” mark on the sole proudly signifies its origin and quality.
