TAGRIGHT’s Grand Debut: A New Chapter for J-Pop

Emerging from the “TAG SEARCH” project, led by Tomoki Nishiyama and Daisuke Maeda, the boy group TAGRIGHT is officially launching as a seven-member ensemble. The exciting announcement of their five new members was made live on Nippon TV’s “Shuichi” broadcast on December 28, 2025, unveiling a fresh visual for the group.

Born February 23, 2000, from Tokyo. Nishiyama pursued his dream after university, working as a dance instructor while auditioning. He gained recognition for his vocal prowess, expressive power, and dance skills in the “timelesz project-AUDITION-.” He also contributed to the lyrics and composition of “FOREVER BLUE.”

Born August 30, 2000, from Toyama Prefecture. Maeda trained with a major Korean agency before participating in “MISSION×2.” After the show, he continued to hone his skills, earning popularity in the “timelesz project-AUDITION-” with his bright personality and dynamic dance.

Daigo Kobayashi (小林 大悟)

Born January 21, 2002, from Tokyo. Kobayashi achieved 13th place in “PRODUCE 101 JAPAN SEASON 2,” garnering significant support. He is an all-rounder, excelling in vocals, dance, and rap.

Kairi Imai (今井 魁里)

Born February 24, 2003, from Osaka Prefecture. Imai debuted with the Korean idol group TFN in 2021. After the group’s disbandment, he participated in “Universe League.” Known for his strong vocals and dance skills, he joined TAGRIGHT through a connection with Nishiyama from their trainee days.

Born October 15, 2003, from Chiba Prefecture. A former HYBE LABELS JAPAN trainee, Kishinami appeared on “Ouen-HIGH ~Yume no Start Line~.” He possesses a unique background as a competitive swimmer and lifeguard.

Born December 25, 2003, from Gifu Prefecture. Wakamatsu started dancing in high school after a childhood in baseball. He worked as a backup dancer but pursued his dream of being a lead performer through multiple auditions. His exotic looks and expressive dance are his charms.

Jay (ジェイ)

Born February 28, 2005, from South Carolina, USA. Jay grew up internationally before coming to Japan for university. He was an overseas influencer whose cover song videos caught the attention of Nishiyama and Maeda. Despite being new to dance, his vocal ability, visuals, and artistic vision aligned perfectly with the group.

Pre-Debut Digital Single “FOREVER BLUE”

On January 7, 2026, TAGRIGHT will release their pre-debut digital single, “FOREVER BLUE,” under Horipro’s independent label, “ALRIGHT.” Tomoki Nishiyama co-wrote and co-composed the track, while internationally acclaimed dancer and choreographer YUMEKI handled the choreography. The song features a fast-paced pop-rock sound, expressing the “blue emotions” of hesitation and anxiety while pushing forward, resonating with anyone striving for their dreams.

Tomoki Nishiyama shared his thoughts on the song: “I poured my feelings into this song for my fellow members and our fans, expressing that ‘because I met everyone, I can now acknowledge what I’ve always believed in myself,’ and ‘I want to continue drawing our dreams together.’ I hope this song becomes a catalyst for listeners to step into their ‘blue dreams’ and a reason for them to keep moving forward.”
