Leading up to the live shows, Ryu orchestrated an engaging “SNS JACK WEEK” across YouTube, Instagram, TikTok LIVE, and X, featuring a full week of continuous simultaneous live streams. Ryu made his debut in the D.LEAGUE, Japan’s professional dance league, as a special dancer for LIFULL ALT-RHYTHM during the “D.LEAGUE 25-26 ROUND.6 CYPHER ROUND” on March 13, 2026. This marked his first foray into the professional league, where he showcased the skills honed in the A-Pop dance scene, captivating the audience with his powerful performance.
In a further demonstration of his versatility, Ryu starred as the protagonist high school student in SoftBank’s new commercial, “The scenery changes when you move.” This commercial, released on SoftBank’s official YouTube channel on March 13, 2026, is part of SoftBank’s initiative to support dance as a sport. Despite being new to acting, Ryu embodied a compelling coming-of-age story of overcoming struggles and setbacks to join a dance selection team. Who is Ryu / REAL AKIBA BOYZ?
Ryu began ballet and jazz dance at age three, discovering street dance at six. He has achieved remarkable success with “Ryu and Yuta” in battles and as part of the A-POP CREW “Sunset Ravens.” He also leads “DESCARADOS,” a group that has made waves in the kids’ dance scene. In 2022, while still a high school freshman, Ryu joined REAL AKIBA BOYZ.
His accolades include winning the マイナビDANCEALIVE 2023 CHARISMAX Ⅰ HIPHOP division, Redbull Dance Your Style 2023 Japan Final (qualifying him as the Japan representative), and reaching the world’s top 4 in the Freestyle Session World Finals 2025 2on2 with “Ryu and Yuta.” Ryu’s dance style is truly unique, transcending genres with undeniable skill.

REAL AKIBA BOYZ, known as the “Otaku Dancer Team representing Akihabara,” boasts over 500 million total views on their online videos. They continue to represent Japan in international breakdance competitions while consistently posting “Odottemita” (tried to dance) videos to anime songs, Vocaloid, and J-Pop, with many exceeding millions of views. In 2023, they contributed “Otaku calls” to YOASOBI’s global hit “Idol” and performed with YOASOBI at the 74th Kohaku Uta Gassen.
