“Skip and Loafer Exhibition” Comes to Namba Parks Museum
Fans of the heartwarming series “Skip and Loafer” can mark their calendars, as the first-ever manga and anime cross-over exhibition is set to grace the Namba Parks Museum in Osaka. Running for 23 days from March 14 (Saturday) to April 5 (Sunday), 2026, this event promises to immerse visitors in the charming world of Mitsumi Iwakura and her journey of self-discovery.

The story of “Skip and Loafer” follows Mitsumi Iwakura, a bright-eyed high school student who moves from a small town to the bustling metropolis, brimming with both hope and a touch of apprehension. Her new friendships, unexpected encounters, and poignant moments collectively paint a vibrant picture of youth. Author Misaki Takamatsu masterfully captures the universal sparkle of those formative years, gently and realistically. The narrative resonates deeply, suggesting that perfection isn’t necessary; rather, genuine connection can be forged through honesty and perseverance. This positive energy quietly touches the hearts of readers, making it a truly special series.
This exhibition is a groundbreaking celebration, bringing together the manga’s intricate details and the anime’s dynamic visuals. Attendees will encounter a diverse range of displays, including original manga drafts that breathe life into memorable scenes and characters, alongside immersive installations designed to bring the world of “Skip and Loafer” to life. It’s an opportunity to laugh, ponder, and grow a little, just like the characters themselves.
