Dive into Iizuka: A Spring Celebration at Teruha Spa Resort
Imagine soaking in a bath infused with the gentle scent of peaches, surrounded by delicate blossoms, or unwinding in a bedrock bath that echoes the grandeur of a historic theater. This is the promise of “Iimono Ippai! Iizuka City in Teruha Spa Resort,” a special event running from February 1 to March 22, 2026. Hosted by Teruha Spa Resort’s main store in Fukuoka City and its Moji store in Kitakyushu City, this collaboration aims to shine a spotlight on the captivating allure of Iizuka City, offering guests a unique blend of relaxation and regional discovery.

The event is meticulously crafted to allow visitors to experience Iizuka’s essence through various facets of the spa resort. From the serene warmth of the baths to the savory delights of local cuisine and opportunities to take memorable photos, every corner of the facility will offer a taste of Iizuka.
Seven Ways to Experience Iizuka’s Charms
The collaboration boasts seven distinct experiences, each designed to highlight a different aspect of Iizuka City:
-
“Hiina no Yu” Special Bath: Step into a bath inspired by Iizuka’s cherished “Iizuka Hiina Festival,” a traditional doll festival heralding the arrival of spring. The water, infused with peach bath salts, will be adorned with floating peach blossoms (artificial) and charming Hina dolls, creating a truly enchanting and festive atmosphere.

-
Kaho Theater-Themed Bedrock Bath: Experience the historical ambiance of the Kaho Theater, a celebrated traditional playhouse in Iizuka known for its captivating popular entertainment. The bedrock bath area will be transformed with actual banners, signboards, and evocative videos, transporting guests to the heart of this cultural landmark.

-
Photo Opportunities with “Zashiki Bina”: Capture unforgettable memories at a special photo spot featuring grand panels of “Zashiki Bina”—traditional ornamental dolls typically displayed in the rooms of the historic Former Ito Denemon Residence in Iizuka. Face-in-hole panels will also be available for playful souvenir photos.

-
Iizuka-Inspired Special Menu: The resort’s restaurant, Terimore, will offer a limited-time menu featuring dishes that draw inspiration from Iizuka. Indulge in original sweets crafted with “Nanban Orai,” a famous local confectionery from Sakaeya, alongside unique dishes like “Botayama Curry” (a rich black curry likely referencing Iizuka’s coal mining heritage) and a delicate “Hiina Matcha Tiramisu.”

As a special treat, guests ordering a “Nanban Orai” menu item will receive a “Sugar Road Clear File” (limited to the first 200 per store), while those choosing other Iizuka collaboration dishes will get a special coaster featuring Iizuka City’s popular character, “Botabon” (limited to the first 300 per store).
-
“20 Best of Iizuka” Photo Panel Exhibition: Discover the hidden gems and celebrated spots of Iizuka City through a captivating photo panel exhibition along the main corridor leading to the baths. This visual journey will introduce visitors to the “good things,” “good deeds,” and “good places” that define Iizuka.

-
Iizuka Local Product Corner: A dedicated section within the resort’s retail area will showcase and sell a wide array of “Iizuka Brand” certified products and other local specialties. Purchases totaling 1,000 yen (tax included) or more will be rewarded with an exclusive novelty gift, available while supplies last.

-
Special Events on February 22, 2026 (Teruha Spa Resort Main Store):
-
Free Gara-pon Lottery: The first 400 guests utilizing the spa resort course will receive a ticket for a free Gara-pon (capsule toy style) lottery, offering a chance to win various Iizuka specialty products.

-
Guest Löyly Event: Experience a unique Löyly event featuring special guests Mayor Takei of Iizuka City and Iizuka Furusato Support Ambassador Sora Fujimatsu. Iizuka City staff and Teruha Spa Resort staff will deliver invigorating “heat waves.” Participants will receive a “Kaho Theater fan,” and after the event, a “Iizuka Auto special towel” from the guests.

-
“It’s moments like these, where local culture meets everyday enjoyment, that truly make a region shine,” commented a local enthusiast. “Discovering these hidden ‘good things’ is a joy!”
