MATSURI Shines as Scalp D Beaute Ambassadors, Setting Sights on “Red and White” Stage
Popular Showa Kayō group MATSURI has officially stepped into a new role as brand ambassadors for Angfa Co., Ltd.’s women’s haircare brand, “Scalp D Beaute.” The announcement was made at a lively inauguration event on January 19, 2026, where all six members of MATSURI, produced by Akimoto Yasushi, were present.
The collaboration stems from a shared philosophy: MATSURI’s inspiring message to “never give up on your dreams, no matter your age,” resonates deeply with “Scalp D Beaute’s” commitment to empowering adult women with dignified hair. This synergy was encapsulated in their joint message: “Hair and future, no matter your age, can be changed.” The event also featured the unveiling of MATSURI’s new web commercial, showcasing the group’s refreshing appeal.

Haircare Secrets and Playful Banter from MATSURI Members
Making a grand entrance in their latest single “Agave no Hana” costumes, the six members of MATSURI were greeted by cheers from approximately 40 fan club members. Member Watanabe expressed his honor in becoming an ambassador, highlighting previous collaborations with “Scalp D Beaute” and his commitment to the role. A playful moment quickly followed as Onodera, known for his long, permed hair and high beauty consciousness, teased Watanabe for stumbling over the word “ambassador,” eliciting laughter from the crowd.
Onodera, affectionately nicknamed “Cuticle” or “Angel” by fans for his glossy hair and “angel’s halo,” praised “Scalp D Beaute’s” non-silicone shampoo for enhancing hair elasticity and shine. Matsuoka comically interjected, “Inside, he’s a devil!” showcasing the group’s warm camaraderie. Hashizume, a devoted user of the “Scalp D Beaute Scalp Electric Brush,” demonstrated its portability and five-stage stimulation, noting its tightening effect and jokingly adding, “I might become so small-faced with it that I disappear!”

Granting Wishes on a Giant Ema and Personal Ambitions
As their first official duty, MATSURI participated in a “beautiful hair prayer” ceremony using a giant ema, a traditional Japanese wooden votive tablet typically found at Shinto shrines, where people write their wishes. The ema was adorned with wishes from attending fans, such as “I want to catch a rich boyfriend with shiny hair!” and “I want to turn heads with beautiful hair.” The members were visibly impressed, acknowledging the importance of beautiful hair.
Onodera quickly fulfilled a fan’s wish for “three fan services from a beautiful-haired me” with three heart poses, while Matsuoka charmed another fan with a suave, “Your hair is beautiful, you’re so cute today!” The group collectively declared, “May everyone’s wishes come true with beautiful hair from Scalp D Beaute!”

Later, MATSURI members revealed their own “wishes for beautiful hair in 2026” on individual flip boards. Watanabe, turning 40 this year, aimed to become an “ikemen oji” (handsome middle-aged man). Hashizume sought to embody “charming allure with glossy hair,” while Onodera aspired to create a “double-take” visual with his immaculate hair.
Matsuoka’s wish, “Make them love me more ♡,” was met with laughter as he confidently stated, “I want to increase my hair’s shine to make my fans love me even more.” Suzuki presented a unique wish, “‘Hi’ki,” a double meaning for “attracting with charm” and “drawing in luck,” hoping MATSURI could become a national group. Yanagida, aiming for a “radiant 40s,” expressed his desire for glossy, shining hair. The segment concluded with Onodera’s bold declaration: “With increased shine from our hair, we will work hard to appear on ‘Kōhaku Uta Gassen’ this year!” — referring to Japan’s prestigious year-end music program, a true testament to national recognition.

A Future of Beauty and Ambition
In closing, Yanagida reiterated MATSURI’s honor in their ambassadorship. Onodera, acknowledging the members are all in their 30s or older, pledged to continue promoting the product’s charm through their maintained visuals, emphatically stating, “We will follow Scalp D Beaute for life!” Watanabe encouraged fans, “Let’s spend our lives together, becoming beautiful together.”
This ambassadorship marks an exciting chapter for MATSURI, a group born from Akimoto Yasushi’s “Don’t Give Up on Your Dreams! Audition,” aiming to revive Showa Kayō for the Reiwa era. Comprising members with diverse backgrounds, from garbage collectors to nurses, MATSURI embodies the spirit of pursuing dreams.
