The “GAKUSEI RUNWAY 2026 SUMMER in NAGOYA,” produced by the renowned Kansai Collection, is scheduled for June 13, 2026, at COMTEC PORTBASE. What is GAKUSEI RUNWAY?
GAKUSEI RUNWAY, or “Student Runway,” is a participatory event designed to put female students from across Japan in the spotlight. Since its inception in June 2023, the event has held six successful editions in Osaka, providing a professional launchpad for countless young women. It welcomes female students of all ages—elementary, junior high, high school, university, and vocational school—regardless of prior modeling experience. Participants receive comprehensive support, including auditions, walking lessons, and professional photo shoots, to prepare them for a truly authentic runway experience.
The event day is packed with exciting content, featuring fashion shows from brands popular among Generation Z, exclusive photo sessions with special guests, and dynamic live performances by trending artists. It’s a full-sensory spectacle designed to inspire and entertain.
The Search for Nagoya’s Star Models
For its inaugural Nagoya event, GAKUSEI RUNWAY will select “Nagoya Chosen Models” through an on-site, real-time audience vote during the show. These successful students will make their runway debut at the June 13 event. A select group of 19 individuals, including the Grand Prix and Semi-Grand Prix winners, will earn the prestigious opportunity to appear on the stage of “KANSAI COLLECTION 2027 SPRING&SUMMER” as representatives of Japan’s female student models. This initiative aims to foster the aspirations of young women and highlight their budding talents.
A Galaxy of Guest Stars to Inspire
The “GAKUSEI RUNWAY 2026 SUMMER in NAGOYA” will feature a stellar lineup of guests, including creators and influencers widely supported by Generation Z, all set to cheer on the student models and elevate the event’s energy.
Returning Idol Sensation: Kyurun tte Shitemite
Back by popular demand, the idol group “Kyurun tte Shitemite,” known for their viral presence and over 5 million views on their hit song “Love Kyun Wanted” music video, is confirmed to perform. Having previously captivated audiences at “GAKUSEI RUNWAY 2025 WINTER,” the group returns to grace the stage once more as they celebrate their 5th anniversary.
Z-Generation Icons Gather in Nagoya
Expect a powerful assembly of young stars who have garnered immense support from Generation Z. This includes figures like Kanato Kawamura, who rose to prominence on ABEMA’s popular reality show “Kyo, Suki ni Narimashita.”
Joining him are Nagoya-native Kyosuke Hayashi, expanding his career as a model and TV personality; Haruhi Imai, the younger brother of popular influencer Osaki, celebrated for his authentic charm; Yune Nakajima, a TikTok sensation with a bright personality and keen fashion sense; and sisters Hina Tanaka and Himari Tanaka, both popular members of “Melpucci” and known for their appearances on “Kyo, Suki ni Narimashita.” Also gracing the runway will be Moeka Shirota, an exclusive Popteen model with a mature aura, and Seon Aiba, active as an actress and model.

The event will also feature the popular YouTuber and creator group Justy Star, a seven-member childhood friends’ collective whose slogan is “To be someone’s hero.” Other notable guests include Neo, a trendsetter with broad appeal, and her sister Miyu Nosaki; Nanako Kurozaki, a member and producer of the female idol group Root mimi; and Miyu Kaneko, an influencer commanding immense support from Generation Z with her diverse styles and free expression.
