KAWAII LAB., ASOBISYSTEM’s project dedicated to sharing idol culture with the world, introduced its newest group, MORE STAR, last December. On January 11, 2026, the nine-member idol collective unveiled the highly anticipated music video for their second digital single, ‘HUG!,’ a track that encapsulates the playful spirit of a rhythm game.
Comprising nine talented individuals—Newi Kokona, Endo Marin, Sasahara Nanaka, Suzuki Karin, Takanashi Yuna, Nakayama Kohaku, Hagita Sora, Morita Ami, and Yamamoto Rushia—MORE STAR emerged from the KAWAII LAB. MATES program. With members ranging from 16 to 20 years old, averaging 18, the group’s name, ‘MORE STAR,’ embodies their aspiration to grow ‘more’ and become a ‘star’ of radiance and admiration. Their core philosophy, ‘WITH KAWAII,’ emphasizes a collaborative journey with fans to discover and create new forms of cuteness.
The track ‘HUG!’ first captivated audiences during MORE STAR’s debut performance at ‘KAWAII LAB. SESSION vol.17.’ Drawing inspiration from the infectious fun of familiar rhythm games, the song bottles the everyday excitement and playfulness into its melody and lyrics. Cleverly woven into the verses are elements reflecting the group’s ‘WITH KAWAII’ concept and their very name, ‘MORE STAR,’ designed to resonate with both dedicated fans and new listeners alike. The vibrant composition was penned and arranged by the three-piece band YUTORI-SEDAI, with lyrics and music specifically crafted by Kinbara Ryoki.
