New Year, New Adventures: miraii Park’s Free Online Events Bring Joy to Kids at Home

As the winter holidays conclude, Japanese online children’s platform “miraii Park” is hosting special free online events throughout January to help elementary school students transition into the new year with excitement and a positive mindset. Operated by miraii Inc., these initiatives encourage creativity, self-expression, and social interaction, all from the comfort of home.

Express Your 2026 Ambitions: The Online Artwork Project

One of the key initiatives is the “2026! Tell Us Your Ambition!” project. This online program invites children to reflect on their aspirations for the year – what new challenges they want to take on, or what kind of person they wish to become. Participants can express these ambitions through any creative medium, such as drawings or crafts. Images of their completed works are then submitted to the “Collection Dome” within miraii Park.

Selected artworks will be featured on the official Instagram page, providing a platform for young artists to share their visions. This project aims to foster self-expression and support children as they take their first confident steps into the new year.

  • Submit artwork via the “Entry” button.

The submission deadline for the “2026! Tell Us Your Ambition!” project is January 11th (Sunday).

Blindfolded Laughter: The “Yassun’s Fukuwarai” Workshop

Another highlight is the “Yassun’s Blindfolded Fukuwarai!” online workshop, scheduled for January 17th (Saturday) and 24th (Saturday). “Fukuwarai” is a traditional Japanese New Year’s game, often compared to “Pin the Tail on the Donkey,” where participants are blindfolded and attempt to place facial features onto a blank face, leading to hilariously mismatched expressions. This workshop focuses less on structured learning and more on simply enjoying a fun, shared experience with family and other participants.

Leading the workshop is miraii Park’s popular coach, Yassun, who aims to create an atmosphere of joyful interaction. Through the communal laughter sparked by the comical results of Fukuwarai, children naturally develop cooperation and communication skills.

Workshop Dates & Times:

    • January 17th (Sat): 9:00 AM – 9:50 AM, 1:00 PM – 1:50 PM

    • January 24th (Sat): 9:00 AM – 9:50 AM, 1:00 PM – 1:50 PM

Participants are requested to prepare three to four sheets of A4 paper and a thick black marker. The 1:00 PM session on January 24th will also be live-streamed on YouTube, with audio potentially being public.

Coach Yassun shares, “I’d be thrilled if we could all share a fun time together to kick off the New Year. ‘Fukuwarai’ is a game that gets funnier the more things go wrong. Let’s laugh with our families and friends, and naturally connect with each other!”
