About Hatsune Miku
Hatsune Miku, developed by Crypton Future Media, Inc. on August 31, 2007, is a voice synthesis software that allows users to make her sing by inputting lyrics and melodies. What began as a software quickly evolved into a global phenomenon, with countless creators sharing music featuring Miku online. She is now recognized as a “virtual singer” active across various fields.
Miku’s global impact is undeniable. Her world tour series, “MIKU EXPO,” celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2024 with successful tours across North America, Europe, New Zealand, and Australia. In November 2025, the series will embark on its first Asia tour, visiting eight cities, followed by the “MIKU WITH YOU (未来有你) 2025” live event in Shanghai in December 2025.
Domestically, “Hatsune Miku ‘Magical Mirai’,” an event combining live performances and creative exhibitions, has attracted over 580,000 attendees over 13 years since 2013. In 2026, it will expand to three cities: Osaka, Tokyo, and for the first time, Hamamatsu. Miku has also collaborated with renowned artists, performing as a prima donna in Isao Tomita’s works and as an opening act for Lady Gaga’s 2014 North American tour. About Snow Miku
Snow Miku is a character developed by Crypton Future Media, Inc. to support Hokkaido. She originated in 2010 when a pure white snow sculpture of Hatsune Miku was created for the “Sapporo Snow Festival.” Since then, the “SNOW MIKU” festival, starring Snow Miku, has been held annually in Hokkaido. The costume designs Snow Miku wears for the festival are publicly solicited each year based on a specific theme. Today, Snow Miku serves as an ambassador for various initiatives to energize Hokkaido, engaging in collaborations with companies and other characters.
