A Star-Studded Night for the Ocean

On January 31, 2026, the serene shores of Riviera Zushi Marina will transform into a vibrant hub for the “LOVE OCEAN Fes,” an extraordinary night dedicated to marine conservation. Organized by the Special Certified NPO Riviera Mirai Creation Project, this event promises a captivating fusion of music, sustainable dining, and engaging discussions, all set against the backdrop of Shonan’s clear winter sea.

NO OCEAN, NO LIFE! Love Ocean FES.

This innovative festival, a new initiative stemming from the annual ‘LOVE OCEAN’ program, aims to create a compelling experience that encourages participants to reflect on the future of our oceans. It’s designed to be an accessible gateway to environmental awareness, where enjoyment naturally leads to deeper understanding and a desire for action.

Voices for the Sea and Nostalgic Melodies

The evening unfolds in two distinct parts, each offering a unique perspective on marine appreciation.

Part 1: The Sea Symposium

Attendees will have the opportunity to join the popular “Sea Symposium,” a casual yet profound dialogue on marine issues. LOVE OCEAN Ambassadors Minako Tanaka, an actress, and Maya Masai, a former Fuji TV announcer, will lead discussions, fostering a space for unpretentious conversation about the sea.

Part 2: Sustainable Dining and Neo☆Stars Live

Following the symposium, guests will indulge in a special dinner curated by Riviera Japan’s Executive Chef Yasuhiro Ito. The menu features sustainable ingredients, including “Shonan Riviera Circular Vegetables”—a product of Riviera Zushi Marina’s 20-year-long zero-waste compost system—and “Blue Food,” offering a taste of responsible gastronomy in an elegant seaside setting.

The highlight of the evening’s entertainment will be a performance by “Neo☆Stars,” a chorus group primarily composed of iconic 80s idols. Expect a vibrant stage filled with nostalgic hit songs, bringing a glamorous touch to the Shonan night. The lineup includes Miki Asakura, Minako Tanaka, Tomomi Nishimura, Hikomaro, Megumi Watanabe, and Kyoko Tomita, the drummer from Princess Princess.

The Enduring Spirit of LOVE OCEAN

The “LOVE OCEAN” project, initiated in 2021, is a citizen-participatory co-creation movement spanning 13 cities and towns along Sagami Bay in Kanagawa Prefecture. It champions a vision of “sustainable community development from the sea,” connecting people, oceans, and communities through year-round activities like beach cleanups, marine education, and seagrass bed restoration.

Key activities of the LOVE OCEAN project include:

  • Beach cleanups across 13 cities and towns

  • “LOVE OCEAN Operations from the City” to reduce waste flow into the sea

  • Yacht races and fishing tournaments combined with marine plastic cleanup

  • Seagrass bed restoration and observation tours

  • “Sea Symposiums” for open dialogue on marine futures

The project aims to establish the “Shonan Coast” as a wide-area brand, promoting sustainable tourism that balances environmental preservation with regional economic vitality. The “LOVE OCEAN Fes” is a fresh approach to engage a wider audience, demonstrating how enjoyable experiences can lead to profound environmental awareness.
