Nihonbashi Music Liver: Unveiling Tokyo’s Next Music Stars
As 2025 draws to a close, Tokyo’s historic Nihonbashi district is set to pulsate with the energy of emerging musical talent. The “Nihonbashi Music Liver” event, a unique initiative by the Nihonbashi Music Liver Executive Committee, offers a public platform for street musicians, transforming underground passages into vibrant performance stages. On December 26, 2025, six compelling acts, including the powerful duo Nakano Miyabi & Kido Yuina and the acclaimed vocalist Kaizo Ryota, will grace these stages, promising an unforgettable end to the year.

A New Hub for Artistic Discovery
Nihonbashi, a district steeped in Japan’s rich cultural and economic history, is now pioneering a new form of artistic expression. The “Nihonbashi Music Liver” event, held every Friday, serves as a launchpad for discovering next-generation artists. It stands out as one of the few officially recognized street performance events in Japan, attracting attention from both aspiring and established artists.
Over 110 street musicians have already captivated audiences in this distinctive setting. The underground walkways, impervious to weather fluctuations and maintaining a comfortable temperature, are particularly popular among performers. Office workers and international tourists often pause, drawn in by the music, offering warm cheers that fill the air. “The spontaneous connection between artists and audience in this unique urban space is truly magical,” one event organizer noted, capturing the essence of the event’s growing appeal.

Live performances are broadcast and archived on the popular YouTube channel ‘Tokyo Street Live 4K’, while local media ‘Nihonbashi Channel’ provides in-depth artist interviews. This dual approach ensures broad exposure for the talented individuals taking part.
Currently, the event features two stages:
-
SILVER STAGE: Located in the Nihonbashi Muromachi 3-chome underground passage (in front of COREDO Muromachi Terrace B1F), it hosts performances on the 2nd and 4th Fridays of each month.
-
BRONZE STAGE: Situated in front of the Nihonbashi Information Center (COREDO Muromachi 1 B1F), it hosts performances every Friday.

Beyond simply providing a stage, Nihonbashi Music Liver aims to be a true gateway for musicians. It offers contest-style live events exclusively for registered artists and grand finale award events, creating a clear path toward major debut. The initiative also fosters strong community ties through collaborations with local commercial facilities and shops. Post-performance fan交流 events are often held at local restaurants, enriching both the artist and fan experience.
