A Crispy Comeback: “LOVE ebby! TOKYO” Returns to Shinagawa Station
Tokyo’s favorite limited-edition shrimp chips, “LOVE ebby! TOKYO,” are making a much-anticipated return to JR Shinagawa Station. From December 22, 2025, to January 4, 2026, these delightful snacks will be available at the “Hitomebore Theater” event space within Ecute Shinagawa, offering travelers and locals a chance to savor their unique taste once again.

Developed by Sankaku Sohonten, a company renowned for its long history and dedication to quality, “LOVE ebby! TOKYO” is more than just a snack; it’s a culinary experience. The chips are crafted with a generous amount of natural shrimp, making up approximately 60% of the raw ingredients, which delivers an intense umami flavor. This is perfectly complemented by the aromatic richness of domestic black nori seaweed, all fried to a satisfyingly light and crispy texture. It’s a snack that embodies the delicate balance of Japanese culinary artistry, much like a carefully composed haiku captures a moment in nature.
The initial limited-time sale at Shinagawa Station in January 2025 was met with resounding success, sparking a wave of enthusiastic feedback on social media and through direct inquiries. Many fans expressed their desire for a re-release, with comments like, “It was so delicious, I want to buy it again,” and “If it was limited edition, I should have bought more!” This overwhelming demand has led to its second appearance at Shinagawa Station, approximately one year later, a testament to its popularity.
Adding to the excitement, a new stand-pack type for home consumption will be introduced during this special period. This offering makes it even easier for fans to enjoy their favorite shrimp chips or to share them as a delightful Tokyo souvenir or year-end gift.

Sankaku Sohonten, founded in 1889 by Kakujiro Bankaku in Yokosuka (present-day Tokai City, Aichi Prefecture), is celebrating its 137th anniversary in April 2025. The company is renowned for its iconic shrimp crackers, “Yukari,” which evolved from the “ebi hanpei” presented to the Tokugawa family during the Edo period. Their philosophy centers on creating sweets that harness the bounty of nature.
This resurgence of “LOVE ebby! TOKYO” at a major Tokyo hub like Shinagawa Station highlights the growing appreciation for unique, locally inspired Japanese snacks. Such limited-edition delights, with their charming packaging and authentic flavors, serve as perfect ambassadors of Japan’s vibrant food culture and its endearing “kawaii” aesthetic to a global audience, inviting more people to discover the everyday joys of Japanese lifestyle.
