Headliners Set to Thrill
The event will host live performances from three of Japan’s most talked-about musical acts. Leading the charge is the popular rock band Novelbright, making their anticipated return after five years. Known for their SNS-viral street performances that paved the way for their major debut, Novelbright boasts over 300 million cumulative streams for hits like “Walking with you” and “Tsukimiso.” Their sold-out two-day concert at Nippon Budokan and nationwide arena tours underscore their immense popularity.
Joining them is Sayaka Yamamoto, affectionately known as “Sayanee,” who rose to fame as a first-generation member and original captain of the idol group NMB48. Celebrating her 10th solo debut anniversary, Yamamoto’s appearance at KANSAI COLLECTION follows her recent much-discussed performance as an OG member at AKB48’s 20th-anniversary Budokan concert.
Also returning for their second appearance is the high-energy idol group iLiFE!, fresh off their first Nippon Budokan performance in August. Their representative song “Idol Life Starter Pack” captivated audiences at their debut KANSAI COLLECTION performance, and this time, members Aisu, Mini Nijihane, and Noa Wakaba will also grace the runway as models.
Next-Generation Talents Take the Stage
KANSAI COLLECTION is also a platform for emerging artists, featuring two “next break” acts making their debut performances:
- Phantom Theta: This female idol group, produced by the celebrated artist Ado, debuted in June last year with a “retro horror” concept. Their captivating performances, characterized by diverse expressions and deep immersion into their unique world, are highly anticipated. Members Miu and Mona will also appear as models.
- SHOW-WA & MATSURI: Produced by the renowned Akimoto Yasushi (known for creating major idol groups like AKB48), this group of six men, with an average age of 36, was selected from over 3,000 applicants. They are dedicated to reviving Showa-era (mid-20th century Japanese pop) songs and pop music, and recently won the “New Artist Award” at this year’s Japan Record Awards.
Runway Stars and Influencers
The event’s runway will feature a diverse array of models and guests, blending established figures with popular youth icons:
- BUDDiiS Members: Seiya Okamoto, known for his acrobatic skills and personal brand, and Fumiya Takao, celebrated for his dance and rap prowess, will walk the runway.
- Actresses & Idols: Kokoro Aoshima, an actress and model who has appeared in dramas and films, and Mirei Sasaki, a former member of Hinatazaka46 now active as a model, actress, and brand producer, will showcase the latest trends.
- Influencer Power Couples & Reality Stars: Popular model Miyumiyu, who recently welcomed her first child, will appear alongside Gishi from the YouTube and music unit Banbanzai, boasting over 2.8 million subscribers. Additionally, Mia Fujita and Haruhi Imai (brother of popular influencer Osaki), both stars from ABEMA’s hit dating reality show “Kyo, Suki ni Narimashita” (Today, I fell in love.), will bring their youthful charm to the stage.
