MyM’s First Christmas Bash Dazzles Tokyo, Teases Future Milestones
On December 7, MyM, the dynamic music unit featuring Miyuki (Morisanchu), Yoshiko (Ganbare Ruhya), and Mahiru (Ganbare Ruhya), brought festive cheer to Shibuya WWW X with their inaugural Christmas event, “MyM X’mas Special Event 2025.” The trio, formed in May 2024 through the “Oshima Honki Channel” project, has quickly risen to prominence, with their debut track “ASOBOZE” exceeding 2 million YouTube views. Known for their ambition to become a “world-class music unit,” MyM has consistently drawn enthusiastic crowds, including sold-out 1st-anniversary events in Yokohama and Osaka, and this Christmas special was no exception, with the venue brimming with their devoted fans, AnM.
The concert kicked off with a vibrant “Merry Christmas!” as the members, adorned in sparkling costumes, launched into a setlist featuring their popular original songs and captivating covers. Their HIPHOP-infused singing and dancing created an electrifying atmosphere, delivering a joyous experience to every AnM present.
MyM’s unique synergy was on full display, with Miyuki’s rich, expressive vocals, Yoshiko’s powerful and soaring voice, and Mahiru’s versatile range, from aggressive raps to delicate melodies. The group demonstrated their growing stage prowess, even attempting a non-stop vocal performance, as Mahiru playfully declared, “No silly MCs, we’re going non-stop!” The energy was palpable, with the audience joining in the choreography for their October release “Omanju Kowai” and the members engaging in affectionate banter, calling out nicknames to foster a strong sense of unity.
Mid-show, each member delivered a heartfelt solo cover, showcasing their individual artistry. While the specific songs remain under wraps for future performances, Yoshiko unleashed high-pitched vocals, Miyuki presented a uniquely viscous singing style, and Mahiru astounded with a high-speed rap so impressive it left her bandmates in awe. These selections highlighted the rich personalities and diverse skills within the group.
A special highlight of the evening was an exclusive gift for a few lucky AnM: a dedicated song performance just for them, chosen by lottery. The blend of their earnest performance and their warm, humorous banter created an unparalleled, enjoyable atmosphere.
As the main set concluded, the trio reappeared for an encore to the resounding cheers of the audience. It was during this segment that the highly anticipated announcement was made: MyM will hold their 2nd-anniversary event on May 15, 2026, at Ebisu LIQUIDROOM in Tokyo, prompting an eruption of joy from AnM. Amidst the celebratory mood, MyM then performed “Dan-DAN-“, their latest single released on December 3. This debut live performance of the song enveloped the increasingly chilly Tokyo night in a warm glow.
MyM powered through approximately 90 minutes of their setlist with full vigor. As the year-end and New Year holidays approach, Miyuki humorously advised, “Don’t choke on mochi!” and, showing concern for the standing AnM, promised, “We’ll get a bigger venue so everyone can sit!” The evening concluded with the three members holding hands, expressing their gratitude before leaving the stage.
