KENTA’s Journey: From JBJ to Solo Artist
Born on January 10, 1995, in Gunma Prefecture, KENTA’s journey in the K-Pop world began with his appearance on “PRODUCE101 Season 2” in 2017, where he achieved a final ranking of 24th as the sole Japanese participant among 101 trainees. Following immense fan demand, he debuted as a member of the project group JBJ, active from October 2017 to April 2018. In October 2018, he formed the duo KENTA SANGGYUN with former JBJ member Kim Sanggyun. Since 2021, he has also launched the art project “MADE in KENTA,” and in January 2024, published his first book, “The Story of a Japanese Person Who Went to Korea and Became a K-Pop Idol,” through KADOKAWA. With SANGGYUN currently serving in the military since May 2025, KENTA is focusing on solo activities, showcasing his versatility and dedication to his craft.
