A Symphony of Seasonal Flavors at Atami’s Scenic Cafe
Amidst the breathtaking ocean views of Atami, Hotel New Akao’s charming cafe, “Restaurant & Sweets Hana no Yosei” (Flower Fairy), is set to enchant visitors with two new limited-edition parfaits this winter, starting December 1, 2025. These creations highlight the rich bounty of Shizuoka, featuring locally sourced Izu strawberries, mandarins, and aromatic green tea, promising a luxurious taste experience.

Izu Strawberry Parfait: A Crimson Dream
The first new offering is the “Izu Strawberry Parfait with Black Tea Gelee and Fromage Blanc Spheric,” a vibrant celebration of Izu-grown strawberries. This visually stunning parfait is a harmonious blend of sweet-tart strawberries, delicate Shizuoka black tea gelee, creamy crème chantilly, and a light fromage blanc mousse. Each layer unfolds a complex interplay of flavors and textures, making every spoonful a delightful surprise. The vivid red of the strawberries, beautifully arranged, makes this a truly special winter dessert. This exquisite parfait will be available from December 1st to February 28th, priced at 2,200 yen (tax included).

Shizuoka Matcha and Izu Mandarin Parfait: A Sophisticated Fusion
The second captivating creation is the “Shizuoka Matcha and Izu Mandarin Compote Parfait, Expressing a Matcha Tiramisu.” This adult-oriented parfait expertly combines the deep umami of Shizuoka matcha with the refreshing sweetness of Izu mandarins. It features a rich Shizuoka matcha tiramisu, generously prepared with mascarpone, complemented by Izu mandarin compote and caramelized hazelnuts. A hidden chocolate sphere, containing espresso granita, adds a surprising bitter and acidic contrast, creating a symphony of flavors. For those who prefer a touch more sweetness, a drizzle of kuromitsu (black honey) is recommended. This unique parfait will be available from December 1st to January 15th, also priced at 2,200 yen (tax included).

Expanded Grand Menu for an Even Richer Experience
Starting in November, “Hana no Yosei” also enhanced its grand menu with five new items, developed in response to customer requests. The additions primarily feature popular drinks and a petite sweet, ensuring there’s something delightful for every taste. The new offerings include:
-
Matcha Milk (Hot or Iced): A rich and gently sweet beverage combining the elegant aroma of Uji matcha with the smooth richness of milk.
-
Hot Chocolate: A decadent hot drink, perfect for winter, featuring rich chocolate flavor, creamy texture, and marshmallows.
-
Salted Caramel Latte (Hot or Iced): A balanced drink where the rich, fragrant caramel is enhanced by a hint of salt.
-
Izu Lemonade (Hot or Iced): A refreshing drink with the vibrant aroma of Izu lemons, offering a delightful balance of tang and sweetness.
-
Petite Canelé with Drink Set: Small, aromatic canelés baked with French fermented butter, ideal for a light dessert or snack.

“Hana no Yosei”: A Sanctuary with a View
“Hana no Yosei” is celebrated for its stunning location, offering panoramic views of Sagami Bay. It provides a tranquil and healing space where guests can enjoy seasonal sweets and drinks crafted from local ingredients, all while immersed in Atami’s natural beauty and culture. The cafe, situated within the Hotel New Akao premises, is a beloved spot for many repeat visitors seeking a relaxing escape.
One local who recently visited commented, “The combination of fresh Izu strawberries and the view of Sagami Bay felt like a dream. It’s truly a luxurious escape from everyday life!” This sentiment perfectly captures the magic of “Hana no Yosei.”
