A Hands-On Journey Through 52 Years of Creativity
“ON THE TABLE” offers a rare opportunity to explore Gomi’s entire body of work from 1973 to 2025. Unlike traditional exhibitions where books are displayed behind glass, this show emphasizes the inherent charm of picture books by arranging them directly on tables. Visitors are encouraged to freely pick up and flip through the pages, immersing themselves in the tactile experience of his artistry.
Imagine turning the pages of a book, not just viewing it behind glass, but truly interacting with the art that has shaped generations. This exhibition isn’t just a collection of books; it’s designed as a singular spatial artwork by Gomi himself, inviting you to step into his creative mind. An entry badge, priced at ¥1,500, allows for unlimited re-entry throughout the exhibition period, making it easy to revisit and rediscover your favorite stories. Children under school age enjoy free admission, and the 1st-floor exhibition is also free to enter.
