UN1CON and YOUNG POSSE: A Reunion Ignites Stages and Rekindles K-Pop/J-Pop Bonds
Japanese girl group UN1CON recently made a dynamic appearance as guest Japanese artists for Korean five-member girl group YOUNG POSSE’s highly anticipated Japan tour, the “J.E.T. TOUR SERIES” hosted by J.E.T. MUSIC. This event marked a special reunion for the two groups, who have maintained a close friendship since before their respective debuts in Korea, coming together on stage after approximately a year and a half.
The tour, which saw YOUNG POSSE perform their first shows in Japan, took place on November 17th in Osaka at GORILLA HALL and November 19th in Tokyo at Shibuya WWW X. UN1CON had the honor of warming up the crowd at both venues, setting an energetic tone for the night.
As the opening act, UN1CON delivered a powerful four-song set, featuring their debut track “A.R.T.” and “GENKI” from their 1st EP released in August. Their performance swiftly elevated the atmosphere of the packed venues, preparing the audience for the main act.
The bond between UN1CON and YOUNG POSSE runs deep, cultivated during UN1CON’s pre-debut training in Korea through dance collaborations and shared meals. This history made their reunion on the same stage all the more meaningful. UN1CON’s KOKORO expressed her joy, exclaiming, “I’m so happy to be on the same stage!” a sentiment met with warm applause from the audience.

UN1CON is a Japanese girl group that defies conventional debut routes, pursuing a unique style beyond the typical “idol” image. YOUNG POSSE is a five-member South Korean girl group co-produced by DSP Media and BEATS Entertainment. Debuting in 2023 with their 1st EP “Macaroni Cheese,” they quickly gained attention for their aggressive, hip-hop-centric music style. Known as “daughters of K-HIPHOP,” all members participate in songwriting, showcasing their high artistic integrity. They have performed globally, including at the “Head In The Clouds NY” festival in 2024, and are attracting attention in Japan as a next-generation K-Pop group.
